Airports

Road markings intended for airports are subjected to their own certification standards and guidelines and required to exhibit highest performance in terms of durability, weather and chemical resistance. In this special application area, thin coatings are preferred to prevent dangers in the case of delamination but not on the expense of high visibility under strictly defined color coordinates.
In terms of demanding requirements and regulations regarding the performance, suitable road marking paints are typically either acrylic or epoxy based, 1-component or 2-component, respectively. KANSAI HELIOS offers one selected product for each group, certified according to relevant standards.
The offered marking systems achieve the requirements regarding chromaticity co-coordinates, luminance factor β and resistance to chemicals according to:
- Instructions and Requirements for markings on maneuvering areas, edition 2015
- ICAO, Annex 14, Volume 1, Aerodrome Design and Operations 6th Edition, 2013
- EASA, “Airport Design and Certification/Certification Specification”
